Pre-Primary Tap
Children in Reception at school can join our energetic and fun Pre-Primary tap classes. To a wide range of music, children develop clear beating, correct stance, co-ordination, musical timing and the ability to dance a given number of steps.
Our Pre-Primary tap classes gradually introduce children to the basic tap skills and technique that will be needed for their first tap dancing examination which will be the ISTD ( Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance) Primary Class Examination and is usually taken during school year 2 or 3. Also, to help children prepare for this examination, from Pre-Primary tap (II), we start to encourage children to try to remember exercises and corrections from lesson to lesson.
Primary modern and Pre-Primary ballet usually must be learned alongside Pre-Primary tap to help with strength, placement and understanding of line.
