What is  BeautyBox5?

BeautyBox5  is a subscription-based, beauty sampling program that delivers 5 cosmetic samples  every month. Typically in these boxes, everyone will receive the same products with little to no variation. You’ll receive a mixture of luxury, commonly known brands, niche brands, eco-conscious and even vegan brands.

Let’s take a look at February’s box!

BeautyBox5 theme for February 2015 is “Hooray” which celebrates BB5 turning 3 and on the reverse side is the details of the contents in the box. The card establishes why they selected these items for you, and the retail price (just in case you were interested in buying the full-size products from their new online shop).

Absolute Love Bubble Gum Lip Balm (FULL SIZE) $3

The lip gloss is a repeat product, although bubble gum is a different flavor. The color is slightly pink thanks to the sheer pigment.

REVLON Colorstay Nail Enamel, Fall Mood (FULL SIZE) $3.79 & Avon Big Color Eye Pencil in Natural Vibe (FULL SIZE) $3.50

The long wear nail color is a brilliant copper/bronze that goes on smooth and has tons of shimmer.

I think this is the first in a while that an Avon product has graced our subs. I love the shear wash of color the pencil provides, but the pencil is almost greasy feeling on my skin.

GlamGlow YOUTHMUD Tinglexfoliate Treatment (5 ml) $6.50 &  Mineral Eyeshadow by Marsk in Vanilla Frosting (FULL SIZE) $22.50

GlamGlow is always an awesome contribution to any sub! The treatment is an all star mask for purifying skin and works flawlessly to exfoliate. However this sample includes paraben’s which current versions so not. It seems we don’t really know how old this sample is, but since it is wrapped in foil am pretty sure it has a good shelf life.

The Marsk shadow is not my favorite, but it still is a pretty nice surprise for this months box.

This month box  value was not the worst at $40 but the box has continuously proved the sub lacks luster. For only paying around $8 with my purchase of the 1 year membership this would be considered a fantastic deal this month if the box would update their products and avoid sending us outdated, repeat, or expired items. Although the products are at times questionable the box does have its perks, but readers will need to decide if this box meets their needs or not.
