Voices of the 30%

30Here’s an idea.

I’m wondering if anyone else would be interested in a blog by and for people affected by Stage IV breast cancer. My vision is that a core group of two or three (more if interested) people would commit to writing one post a week and manage the blog together.

In my vision, the blog would be a venue for both “30-percenters” and their loved ones and carers. It would be a place for talking about feelings, challenges, successes, but also for sharing information (reliable, verified information) about treatment, activities of daily living, and anything else that affects us.

What do you think? Does this sound like a good idea? It’s okay if it doesn’t. It wouldn’t be the first time in my life that I get carried away. But if it does sound like a good idea, please share in the comments how you see such a blog. If you would like to be personally involved, please write me at the address under “Contact Me” in the sidebar.

  1. I don’t ‘qualify’, on any level as expressed above – and am constrained by the commitment I have to support my chronically ill husband – so cannot participate in any way TK, but I can see that a blog like that could give treasured support to some affected.

  2. Took me a minute, as I was disoriented, but I like the new blog template better than the last one. Much cleaner and simpler. The email link over on the right side is not live. Is it supposed to be? G

  3. Donna Peach (although no longer with us-her blog lives on) has a great list of metastatic blogs on her blog or focused blogs on MBC. There are many ways to let people be aware of those blogs. At the same time I think that all of the blogs, early stage and metastatic add something to all of us and Marie’s weekly round up really helps cover so many blogs of interest.

  5. Thanks for your feedback, my friends, on the idea and the new blog look. I’m still not sure about the latter. It looks good on my mobile devices, but I find it a little too spread out on the wide-screen desktop. We’ll see.

As far as my idea for a 30%-ers blog goes, there is apparently not much interest from the people most affected, so I’m dropping the idea, at least for now.
