Or that Rufus and Tseng are over 190 cm (6'2")?
Given that Aerith and Tifa are respectively 163 cm and 167 cm (and Yuffie is 160 cm), it’s highly likely that Elena can be roughly ±160 cm.
Or that Rufus and Tseng are around ±180 cm (unless you’re Sephiroth which now is canonically 200 cm) ^^

You are being nitpicky indeed since you don’t take in account that Elena is leaning forward so of course she’s gonna look smaller.
It’s even possible that Elena will sport her heels from her OG concept art, which means that even if she looks to be same height as the other girls at first, she’s actually will be smaller than she appears.
We also don’t have her confirmed height and some adult women can still measure 150-55-ish cm (which is currently my hc for Elena until we got her height confirmed in Remake and because I like varying the size of the characters I draw) & still can be around tall men ( since I hc Tseng being around 180cm while Rufus is a few cm taller)
Not all women on earth measure more than 160cm. Sincerely, a 28 y old woman whose height is 154 cm & dated men as tall as Rufus & Tseng & who has a mother who is 150 cm.
And yes, it’s really likely that Sephiroth is canonically over 200cm since Cloud lit can bury his face in his boobs

Yes some people use their art to counter what they see is popular culture and some don’t. You don’t have to nitpick over artist who “offends” your sensibilities. Not every art has to fix what you think is broken. Especially fan art of characters you don’t know anything about.

If an artist draws a character, THAT YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT AT ALL mind you, smaller than then men around her, then it is the artist’s choice. Just because it is commonly depicted in media doesn’t mean people need to start countering it if they don’t want to. And fan artist have the freedom to depict character however THEY want.

I have no idea about this show/series/whatever, but what I want to say is that popular culture is very focused and even obsessed on the dynamic of small woman/tall man, and that no one is forgetting about this. in fact, the dynamic that is often forgotten or even shunned is the one of tall woman/short man, or close in height partners, which should more mentioned/appreciated in popular culture.
