From noon on Saturday April 27, the Earth Uprising collective, the Alsace Bossue nature association, the Isch valley preservation association and the Kenn strass meh collective will meet demonstrators at the Mackwiller fishing pond (Bas-Rhin), in the northwest of Alsace, for a picnic. He intends to contest the construction of a departmental road between the A4 motorway and the town of Lorentzen.
An “ecocide” project
Authorized by the prefecture in December 2023, the construction of this new road endangers the habitat of several protected species, according to several naturalist associations (see our article). For example, it is planned to cross the Morsberg hill, a “unpublished site” which creates a particular ecosystem.
In their demonstration announcement, the Earth Uprisings demand “the pure and simple abandonment of this ecocidal and destructive project of agricultural land”:
“The Morsberg hill, the Hoellgraben valley, have 11 protected environments which are themselves the ecosystem of 90 protected species and hundreds of other unprotected ones. »
After the meeting at noon, a nature walk along the route will begin at 2 p.m. Then discussions and an aperitif will be organized at 4:30 p.m., before a dinner concert which will take place at 7 p.m.
