Hardworking efficiency
- The Peterbilt Model 589 features the MX-13 and X15 engines which can be paired with a lineup of heavy-duty transmissions including the Eaton RT and FR Manual, TX-12/Endurant, TX-18/Endurant XD or Allison 4000/4500/4700
- An enhanced air intake system features 5-inch aluminum tubing and pipe routing for dual air cleaners, resulting in weight savings and mechanical or electronic air restriction sensors options
- The cooling system offers a low-clog radiator core option, as well as power steering and fuel coolers
Truck of choice
- The DNA of Peterbilt Model 589 harkens to the heritage of the Model 379, capturing the essence of the low-long hood, distinct wrap-around crown, triple grille bars and 15-inch air cleaners with dual straps
- The Peterbilt Model 589 also reintroduces the rectangular grille mesh and headlamp pods as a nod to the iconic Model 379
- New door skin exclusive to the Model 589 adds a horizontal feature line and uses a custom beltline window molding to flatten the appearance of 2.1m door structure
- The multi-piece aluminum hood and fenders use classic huck fasteners for fast and easy serviceability
- The lighting program offers three options that meet unique driver needs for inventory, serviceability, efficiency and protection
- The West Coast-style mirrors utilize a larger flat glass that helps improve visibility
Where passion meets purpose
- Customers are instantly greeted with rich colors and decadent materials such as deep burlwood accented with the bright metal scripted and speared Peterbilt logo that match the exterior adornments
- There are rich supple leather accents on the door, steering wheel and seats
- Displays and controls are elegantly adorned and easily accessible to further enhance the feeling of convenience and luxury, all while delivering on the roominess customers desire
- There is even a passenger-side pull-out writing table on Premier and Platinum models; and to the delight of thirsty drivers everywhere, the dual cupholders are larger than ever
- The wider cab allows for improved entry to the sleeper and improved three-person seating in the day cab
- The cab has been lowered by two full inches (compared to the Model 579 and Model 567), giving the Model 589 a more aggressive stance, easier ingress and egress for drivers and improved clearance to over-cab bodies
- The luxury continues with triple-sealed automotive-style doors
- They offer a quiet cab experience, reduced closing effort, and have power locks and windows
- Like the exterior, the low long linear theme flows from the cab through to the sleeper, which is also wonderfully styled for comfort, luxury class and convenience
- There are two available trim levels, Premier and Platinum
