Last Weekend试讲教案

Teaching aims

Emotional aims

Through practice, students can develop their interest in learning English, and they can help parents do housework.

2.Ability aim:

(1)Students are able to use the sentence pattern and words to talk about weekend frequently.

(2) Students’ ability of listening and speaking can be greatly stimulated by finishing “Do a survey and Report” part.

Knowledge aims

(1) Students are able to listen, speak, read and write these words: cleaned my room, washed my clothes, stayed at home, watched TV.

(2) Students can master the sentence pattern: “How was your weekend? It was… What did you do? I did sth ....”

Key and difficult points:

1.Key Point: Ss are able to master key phrases and use them to talk about their weekend.

2.Difficult Point:

Ss are able to master past tense to talk about their weekend in our daily life.

Teaching procedures:

Step 1: Warming-up

Sing the song “Good morning” for students to begin my class.

Then ask students “What day is it today? How was your weekend?”

Step 2: Presentation and Practice

New words/phrases

(1) Show pictures about my weekend, and learn the new phrases,cleaned my room, washed my clothes, stayed at home, watched TV.

Ask students to write down the past tense of the verbs given on the blackboard.

(2) Listen to the recording and read the phrases.

(3) Play a game “What's missing” to practice the new phrases.

New sentence pattern

(1) Through a picture Mike and Chen Jie, listen to the recording “What did Mike/Chen Jie say?” Learn the sentence How was your weekend? What did you do?

(2) Listen to the tape and follow it, and pay attention to the word” watched”

(3)Make a new dialogue based on phrases above.

Ask students to work in pair to practice the conversation. Then act the conversation out. 5minutes is given. Then invite some pairs to show their performance.

Step 3: Production

Grouping work. Divide students in 4 groups.

Group task: Do a survey about “What did you do last weekend”? and then students give a report.

Step 4: Summary

Students make a summary on what they have learned this class, and then the teacher makes supplement, what's more, encourage students help their parents do houssework.

Step 5: Homework

Students are encouraged to ask their parents’ weekend by using the sentence pattern.
